The LR1S is everything the LR1 is but witha switchable on/off slope mode for hills and more pinpoint distances taking into account inclines and downhill slopes. Turn it off for competition play. It is a compact and easy-to-use device weighing just under 8 oz and featuring 3 targeting modes – standard, scan, pin, and a general pin finder mode. Unlike most of the Golfbuddy competitors, the LR1ﾒs scan and pin mode is used with just one click. The features are seriously good, and you can choose what feature you would like.
Standard mode: Provides distance to the target, One point one click – and you have your distance. Perfect for someone just wanting a quick scan to a green, a bunker or a hazard like a stream or trees.

Scan mode: Continuously scans for 10 seconds to shows distances to varying targets you can move the range finder to give you a varying distance between a front or back of green hazards and the actual green itself, giving you a few seconds of what club you may hit or what NOT to hit!

Pin mode: Continuously scans for 10 seconds to shows distances to varying targets; distances displayed are to the closest target
